Leela — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-25 · Applies to the Leela app for Android and to leelagame.app

Leela is a game for reflection, not therapy. It is made by EvaSoftPro. We collect as little as the game needs and never sell data or show ads.

What stays on your device

Your games — intentions, dice rolls, the Guide's replies and your answers — are stored on your phone (in the browser's storage on the website). Uninstalling the app or clearing site data deletes them. If Android backup is on, Android copies your games and settings to your own Google account so they move to a new phone; sign-in data is never included.

The AI Guide

To write the Guide's reply, the app sends the current game (your intention, rolls, previous replies and answers) to our server at leelagame.app, which forwards it to OpenRouter and the language model provider (Google). We ask OpenRouter to route only to providers that do not store or train on the data. Our server does not store or log your intention or answers unless you sign in (see below). To prevent abuse we keep daily request counters keyed by a one-way hash of the IP address.

The app checks that it is a genuine copy from Google Play using Google Play Integrity; Google processes this check under the Google Privacy Policy. The app gets a random identifier from our server to count free games; it is not linked to your name.

Statistics

The website counts pages and steps with self-hosted Umami and with our own PostHog server (analytics.leelagame.app). No cookies, no advertising ID, no texts you write; the website's PostHog identifier lives only in the open tab and is forgotten when you close it. The website respects Do Not Track.

The app sends usage events to the same PostHog server only if you allow it on the first screen: which steps of the game you reach (for example, "a game was started", "the die showed a six"), which screens you open, subscription purchases, sign-in and errors. The events are tied to the app's random identifier, not to your name or e-mail; your intention, answers and the guide's words are never sent. IP addresses are not stored. With the events the app sends the install channel from Google Play (the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign labels of the store link, read once after you allow statistics) and how many days ago the app was installed; the website sends the utm labels of the page address. Our server also records subscription events from RevenueCat under the same identifier. You can change your choice anytime: Settings → Usage statistics.

Purchases

Your first game is free. Subscriptions are sold by Google Play; we never see your payment details. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, which receives the app's random identifier and the purchase record from Google Play. Subscription rules — renewal, trial and cancelling — are in the Terms of Use.

Signing in and cloud sync

Signing in with Google is optional. If you sign in, we store your Google account identifier, the e-mail address Google confirms, and a copy of your games — including intentions and answers — on our servers (Cloudflare) so they are available on your other devices. We use them for nothing else and share them with no one. Signing out removes the games from the phone (except a game too large for the cloud, which stays on the phone); they stay in the cloud until you delete the account. Cloud limits: up to 2000 games and 32 MB per account.

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account, your synced games, your subscription link and the free-game counter from our servers immediately; games on the phone are deleted with the app. Cancel a Google Play subscription yourself in Google Play. You can also ask us by e-mail at support@leelagame.app — we delete within 30 days. Purchase records kept by Google Play are governed by Google.

Children

Leela is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
